Success and accomplishment

I have been a participant of Dahn Yoga for four months. During this time my joints have loosened up. I am able to move my body with greater ease. Learning to breath properly helped to relieve the stress which had been accumulating within my body. Balancing on one foot became easier the more we practiced in class. As a result I achieved greater stability in every day activities. The progress I have made is in no small part due to the Head Instructor, Rose's caring and devotion to seeing that all her students work up to their individual capacity. Stress over a job loss

I discovered Dahn Yoga and the Rockville Center shortly after I lost my job in January, 2012. I was looking for something to help me deal with the stress and negative feelings that I had been experiencing for the past 6 months. I found stress relief and much more through the wonderful help and guidance of the Head Instructor, Ba. I like the holistic approach and each class leaves me with a sense of well-being, both physically and mentally. The variation that each class offers keeps things fresh and I have found a caring community among the other members. How Dahn yoga has impacted me after my diagnosis of Parkinson's Disease

My Doctor says if it wasn't for my yoga she is convinced I would have to take more medications, with not so pleasant side effects. Dahn yoga has changed my life in the most positive way that I could never have imagined. I was very skeptical about how yoga could possibly impact my condition. I was wrong about that. I do better now 5 years into my diagnosis than I did in the beginning. P.D. is a progressive disease, but I feel as if this disease has regressed not progressed in the past two years of practicing yoga. I now feel I have some control. Prior to joining Dahn yoga I felt hopeless in doing anything to control this disease. I look forward to going to classes, if I miss for some reason it impacts my body and mind in a not so positive way. I appreciate the individual attention and care I receive from the Dahn yoga instructors.

Back pain due to slip disc and constant stress

I joined Dahn Yoga about 3 months back. It was my 3rd occurance of slip disc pain which had me in bed for a week. I decided to take my health more seriously and start taking care of myself. When I joined the class I could not bend, could not lift a gallon of milk or more than 5lbs, my feet would be swollen all the time and basically I had no strength or energy. After 2 weeks of continous yoga class I feel so much relief. I am pain free, have more energy and feel much more happy. I am on the road to self transformation, to be stress free, to take care of myself, love myself and enjoy life. Its about time I think of myself first. The road is long and my journey has started. I want to thank my instructor, Won Jon, who is full of kindness and support.

body and brain center in babylon village

Well....life is a journey, everyone has their own story to tell. My personal story with yoga was introduced to me by my daughter. She took classes in high school while she was studying dance. She said to me one day "mom you should try yoga it is so good for everyone". At the time I needed something for me. So I looked up the nearest center and took a couple of classes, I truly enjoyed it, but something was missing. I didnt know at the time what it was. I came along this pamphlet for the center here in Babylon Village with Jeanny. Well the moment I stepped into the place I knew I was home. It has added so much more for me than I would have never thought. I look forward to every saturday morning to come to the center and renew myself. I certainly want to add more days in the future, but for now I am just enjoying every minute I can spend with Jeanny at Body and Brain Center practicing Dahn Yoga. Thank you for letting me find you.
