Body & Brain - Simple Tools for Better Health

To achieve and maintain optimal health in body and mind, we need to practice movement and meditation, daily.  With a holistic approach to health, Body & Brain Yoga and Tai Chi improves flexibility, focus, strength and vitality.  The various classes and programs also provide tools for improving concentration, living mindfully to manage stress and increase longevity whlie creating a more balanced lifestyle.  Our exercises are suitable for all ages and body types.

Our classes consist of the following: 

  • Stretching - Increase flexibility and strength, improve circulation and alignment.
  • Meditation - Learn to relax and shift your focus away from busy thoughts through Brain Wave Vibration and other forms of moving meditation.
  • Breathing Exercises - Deep breathing exercises and postures recharge your body and clear your mind.
  • Energy Accumulation - learn how to accumulate energy for better focus and self healing.

Master Neil of Crystal Lake Illinois - Certified in Tai Chi, Yoga, Holistic Healer in the Ancient Korean style, with over 20 years of experience using the principles of nature to regain our health, happiness and longevity. Licensed Massage Therapist, lecturer and guide to your inner self that will enable you to be your best.
Mary Arevalo
Dedicated to healing the minds, bodies and spirits of humanity.

She has taught for 8 years starting in NYC and now here in Crystal Lake. She also taught students ages 5-17 mindful movement, meditation, and brain healing in NYC public schools and in Mount Prospect. Mary is passionate about healing through movement.

Does your child or a child you know lose focus quickly, have a hard time making or keeping friends or seem at times uphappy?

In Brain Education classes, your child will learn skills they can take and use back home or in class at school. Your child will enjoy physical, emotional, and cognitive exercises designed to improve focus, creativity, memory, confidence, stress management, and physical health.

How promoting Physical, Emotional, and Cognitive Intelligence helps your child's overall happiness.]

Classes Start April 21, 2018 at 10:20 am and run for 12 weeks. 

Improved Focus & Memory
Brain Education (BE) utilizes a variety of methods to improve focus and memory:
- Brain-based physical exercises promote optimal energy and oxygen flow to the brain;
- Neuroplasticity coordination activities integrate the left and right brain hemispheres;
- Isometric breathing and visualization training promote alpha brain waves;
- Specific memory enhancement strategies empower our students to improve their short and long-term memory, dramatically aiding in comprehension and retention.

Managing Stress and Test Anxiety
Test anxiety is a chief cause of student underperformance and stress is a prime contributor to educator burnout. Through BE, students and teachers learn simple and effective stress management tools (breathing, mindfulness training, emotional release, etc) to ensure they approach a task with a confident, relaxed and focused mindset.

Increased Productivity & Learning Efficiency
Time on-task is the number one indicator of student productivity and BE gives students and teachers hundreds of exercises, activities and strategies to maximize their learning efficiency
while cultivating a nurturing and positive learning environment.
Confidence & Positive Attitude
Consciously developing self-efficacy – a student’s belief that s/he will be successful in a given task – is a huge part of boosting student achievement and overall self-esteem. BE provides proven confidence building activities that empower students to maximize their academic and social success.

Mindfulness & Movement
Research has shown conclusively that movement is essential to healthy brain development as exercise creates the nerve connections needed for optimal brain functioning. In addition, it
helps to circulate blood, oxygen and nutrients to the brain and stimulates the production of hormones that combat stress and depression. BE provides simple, effective and fun daily
exercises that are seamlessly incorporated into the school day.

Body & Brain Yoga (All levels) ( BBY )

Body & Brain Yoga's regular classes are great for all levels and ages! Each class has effective and dynamic components of stretching, breathing, and meditation to destress, strengthen, and relax the mind and body. You will definitely feel refreshed and energized even after just one fun session guided by our seasoned instructors!

 

Energy Movement ( VIB )

With rhythmic energy movement this class creates vibrations in the body to rebalance the energy of the brain. This class will include, Dahn Mu (moving energy meditation), tapping, vibration, dancing, breathing, and meditation. Through rhythm and sound you will release stress and body tension and bring your brain into a calm and meditative state. Relaxes your body and mind and helps you to recover your center and get grounded.

Tai Chi ( TAI )

Tai Chi incorporates slow, deliberate movements, meditation, and breathing exercises to help your circulation, balance, and alignment while restoring energy. This is a low-impact martial art with amazing benefits.

Tai Chi and Ki gong ( TNK )

Tai Chi & Ki Gong combine slow, deliberate movements, meditation, and breathing exercises to help your circulation, balance, and alignment while restoring energy. This is a very low-impact exercise with amazing benefits.

Yoga and Ki-gong ( YNK )

This class is a combination of the regular class with a focus on Ki-gong for those who want to get the best of both worlds. You will get your mind and body feeling free and centered as Ki-gong is a powerful training, which helps with energy accumulation, focus, and relaxation.
