Welcome to Body and Brain The Woodlands!
All levels, ages, and physical conditions are welcome

Group Classes, Private Sessions, and Workshops available

Our mission at Body and Brain is to empower individuals by activating the brain's natural ability to create health and happiness. We believe in the significance of self-change and its direct contribution to the health of others. Our mind-body practices and principles reflect our continuous commitment to benefit each individual and all life on Earth.

Since opening in 2009, we have offered energy yoga, Tai Chi, meditation, and breathing classes to help individuals release stress and learn how to balance their body and brain.
Our focus in our training is low impact physical exercise and mindfulness to promote natural healing from within.
Benefits of our yoga include but are not limited to: pain relief, stress relief, peace of mind, weight management, better sleep, improved focus/memory, flexibility, balance, emotional stability, and increased self confidence.

Instructors
Maureen Godfrey
Maureen is the owner and head instructor at Body and Brain The Woodlands as well as the Kingwood location. She has been an instructor for 12 years and continues to grow in her practice! She brings a deep, energetic experience with her calming and motherly presence. She is a life coach and spiritual guide, helping individuals to find their own path to a healither, happier and more peaceful life. She is also assistant TX regional director, leading regional workshops including Initial Awakening and Finding Trueself.
Dana Wallace-Baca
Dana has been practicing with Body and Brain Yoga for 3 years. Her gentle yet encouraging energy has graced the classroom under her guidance for the past 2 years, helping members to lift their spirits. When she isn't in the studio, she enjoys spending time with her husband and her "girls" (two Schnauzers).
Cherie Clark-Moore
Cherie has been practicing with Body and Brain Yoga for 2 years and began teaching in May of this year. Her passion for reconnecting inside shines in her classes, especially in the outreach classes she teaches for mother's groups. In addition to teaching, is also an authenticity and life coach.

Group Classes or 1:1 Private Sessions Available
 
All of our classes focus on low impact physical exercise and mindfulness to promote natural healing. While each class has a differrent routine/flow, each class incorporates the following elements: meridian stretching, vitality breathwork, brain wave vibration, and energy meditation.
 

We also offer Tai Chi classes on Tuesdays at 12 PM (and 7 PM if possible).

 

Benefits include but are not limited to: pain relief, stress relief, peace of mind, weight management, better sleep, improved focus/memory, flexibility, balance, emotional stability, and increased self confidence. 

Body & Brain Yoga (All levels) ( BBY )

Body & Brain Yoga's regular classes are great for all levels and ages! Each class has effective and dynamic components of stretching, breathing, and meditation to destress, strengthen, and relax the mind and body. You will definitely feel refreshed and energized even after just one fun session guided by our seasoned instructors!

 

Core Strengthening ( COR )

Core Strengthening class emphasizes our inner abdominal muscles related to supporting the flexibility and strength of our organs, hips, the breathing diaphragm, and back. In this class, we combine Belly Button Healing, Intestinal (Abdominal) Exercises with Meridian Stretches and Core Energy Breathing postures to increase circulation to help strengthen our immune system and improve our gut health. This class includes deep stretching, core breathing, relaxation and meditation for chakra health and balance.

Energy Movement ( VIB )

With rhythmic energy movement this class creates vibrations in the body to rebalance the energy of the brain. This class will include, Dahn Mu (moving energy meditation), tapping, vibration, dancing, breathing, and meditation. Through rhythm and sound you will release stress and body tension and bring your brain into a calm and meditative state. Relaxes your body and mind and helps you to recover your center and get grounded. 

Open Class ( OPC )

Body & Brain Yoga's regular classes are great for all levels and ages! Each class has effective and dynamic components of stretching, breathing, and meditation to destress, strengthen, and relax the mind and body. You will definitely feel refreshed and energized even after just one fun session guided by our seasoned instructors!

Tai Chi and Ki gong ( TNK )

Tai Chi & Ki Gong combine slow, deliberate movements, meditation, and breathing exercises to help your circulation, balance, and alignment while restoring energy. This is a very low-impact exercise with amazing benefits.

Yoga for Young Adults ( YYA )

Improve mind-body connection to sharpen mental clarity, better emotional stability, and strengthen the body with Body & Brain Yoga. The class consists of stretching, breathing, energy movement, and meditation. This specialized class will focus on how to deal with the external factors as well as the internal struggles young adults deal with on a dail basis. Learning how to be the master of their emotions and control the mental thoughts will help them make wiser choices and succeed in their pursuits creating their best life.
