Our mission at Body & Brain Yoga Tai Chi is to empower individuals by activating the brain's natural ability to create health and happiness. We believe in the significance of self-change and its direct contribution to the health of others. Our mind-body practices and principles reflect our continuous commitment to benefit each individual and all life on Earth.

Since opening in 2009, we have offered energy yoga, Tai Chi, meditation, and breathing classes to help individuals release stress and learn how to balance their body and brain.

Our focus in our training is low impact physical exercise and mindfulness to promote natural healing from within.
Benefits of our yoga include but are not limited to: pain relief, stress relief, peace of mind, weight management, better sleep, improved focus/memory, flexibility, balance, emotional stability, and increased self confidence.  We offer group classes and private sessions at the center and now also on-line, for specialized assistance, personal healing, coaching and guidance.

 

How to start Body & Brain Yoga Tai Chi?

The best way to start learning and practicing Body & Brain is to book a 1-on-1 Introductory Session.

One of our trained instructors will work with you to check your flexibility, balance, breathing,and stress levels and provide 1-on-1 guidance on how best to utilize our exercises and programs.

We're in Grogan's Mill Village Shopping Center just to the left of Randall's, close to Brother's Pizza. Parking is available in front of the shops or in the main Randall's area.

Maureen Godfrey
Maureen is the owner and head instructor at Body and Brain The Woodlands. She has been an instructor for over 14 years and continues to appreciate the benefits it brings to her personally. She has a calming and motherly presence, guiding each individual to develop themselves with caring encouragement. She is a life coach and spiritual guide, helping everyone to find their own path to a healthier, happier and more peaceful life. She is the Assistant Regional Director for Texas, leading regional workshops including Initial Awakening and Finding Trueself. She has been designated an honorary title of DahnSa (Senior Master) by the founder Ilchi Lee.
Dana Wallace-Baca
Dana, Energy (Dahn) Master and Healer, has dedicated herself to the practice of yoga since discovering the powerful healing benefits of yoga in 2010. Through her yogic journey from Vinyasa and Hatha yoga to Body and Brain Yoga, Dana has evolved her practice and teaching techniques to provide a strong and healing class. Dana has been a member and instructor at Body & Brain Yoga and TaiChi in The Woodlands since 2014. It is her passion to help people discover their natural healing ability and return to health and wellness.

Group Classes or 1:1 Private Sessions Available
All of our classes focus on low impact physical exercise and mindfulness to promote natural healing. While each class has a differrent routine/flow, each class incorporates the following elements: meridian stretching, vitality breathwork, brain wave vibration, and energy meditation. 
We also offer Tai Chi classes on Tuesdays at 12 PM (and 7 PM if possible).
Benefits include but are not limited to: pain relief, stress relief, peace of mind, weight management, better sleep, improved focus/memory, flexibility, balance, emotional stability, and increased self confidence.  We can bring a chair into the room to help those with limited mobility.   We will help you get started and build your confidence.

We have a special floor and work without shoes, so no mats are required and we recommend wearing socks. For a trial class, please arrive about 15 minutes before class is due to start for registration and some orientation. Prior notice is not required, but is appreciated, so we know to expect you.  

 

Meditation Circle is on Sundays at 4pm-5pm.

This is a free class, open to everyone.  No experience or ability is required.  We recognize that modern life generates very busy minds, so we teach techniques to help the mind become quiet and the body relax.  

Body & Brain Yoga (All levels) ( BBY )

Body & Brain Yoga's regular classes are great for all levels and ages! Each class has effective and dynamic components of stretching, breathing, and meditation to destress, strengthen, and relax the mind and body. You will definitely feel refreshed and energized even after just one fun session guided by our experienced instructors!

 

Core Strengthening ( COR )

Core Strengthening class emphasizes our inner abdominal muscles related to supporting the flexibility and strength of our organs, hips, the breathing diaphragm, and back. In this class, we combine Belly Button Healing, Intestinal (Abdominal) Exercises with Meridian Stretches and Core Energy Breathing postures to increase circulation to help strengthen our immune system and improve our gut health. This class includes deep stretching, core breathing, relaxation and meditation for chakra health and balance.

Energy Movement ( VIB )

With rhythmic energy movement, this class creates vibrations in the body to rebalance the energy of the brain. This class will include Dahn Mu (moving energy meditation), tapping, vibration, dancing, breathing, and meditation. Through rhythm and sound, you will release stress and body tension and bring your brain into a calm and meditative state. Relax your body and mind and recover your center to ground your energy. 

Tai Chi and Ki gong ( TNK )

Tai Chi & Ki Gong combines slow, deliberate movements, meditation, and breathing exercises to help your circulation, balance, and alignment while restoring energy. This is a very low-impact exercise with amazing benefits.
