The Body N Brain center has helped me greatly. I feel so much more relaxed after class. I am also stronger and more balanced. I can stand on one leg longer when before I would shake and want to fall over right away. Now I can focus and feel my lower body better in order to find my balance. I also had a lot of stiffness in my joints and now they are much looser and flexible. I am always excited to attend class, even though it is challenging enough the exercise is also simple and easy to follow. Because of these improvements I always find myself in a much better mood since I started classes here! Try it!

How Dahn yoga has impacted me after my diagnosis of Parkinson's Disease

My Doctor says if it wasn't for my yoga she is convinced I would have to take more medications, with not so pleasant side effects. Dahn yoga has changed my life in the most positive way that I could never have imagined. I was very skeptical about how yoga could possibly impact my condition. I was wrong about that. I do better now 5 years into my diagnosis than I did in the beginning. P.D. is a progressive disease, but I feel as if this disease has regressed not progressed in the past two years of practicing yoga. I now feel I have some control. Prior to joining Dahn yoga I felt hopeless in doing anything to control this disease. I look forward to going to classes, if I miss for some reason it impacts my body and mind in a not so positive way. I appreciate the individual attention and care I receive from the Dahn yoga instructors.

My experience with the Body & Brain classes

I went into the studio after a friend accidentally left a brochure at my house thinking "Well, looks interesting but this probably won't work for me. I like to work up a sweat!" Plus, I wasn't really a big believer in what yoga practice could offer me; I had tried it at my gym and was simply bored. WOW. I have been working out for at least 15 years and am in great physical shape. However, the classes offer really core intensive moves that are very challenging. The studio offers much more than the physical aspect; this is what I have fallen in love with.

Overcoming Anxiety
