Award of Appreciation

In an expression of gratitude for Ilchi Lee's pioneering and continuing contributions to education, the Mayor of the city of Cheonan in South Korea honored Ilchi Lee with an Award of Appreciation this month. As 800 City Hall employees looked on, Ilchi graciously accepted the award, which holds special meaning for him since Cheonan is the place of his birth.

Cheonan is also the location of the Institute of Traditional Korean Studies (Kookhakwon), the University of Brain Education, the Benjamin School for Character Education, and headquarters for the four-year online undergraduate university, Global Cyber University, all of which were founded by Ilchi Lee.

The mid-sized South Korea city of Cheonan calls itself “the city of abundant hope, and no doubt Ilchi Lee's vision and philosophy as well as the opportunities provided by the educational institutions he founded have contributed to this spirit.

Ilchi Lee's global vision developed over decades as he followed his conviction to share what he had learned in a life-changing meditation experience on Moak Mountain in South Korea. As he assisted others to become physically healthier, he recognized the part the mind plays in health and success. The exercises he taught evolved into techniques for meditation and brain enhancement, and eventually he systemized the training into what is now known as Brain Education. This system of mind-body-spirit training offers wisdom for healthy and sustainable living to countless numbers of individuals throughout the world.

Congratulations to Ilchi Lee and the city of Cheonan!
