Welcome to Body and Brain Kingwood!
All levels, ages, and physical conditions are welcome

Group Classes, Private Sessions, and Workshops available

Our mission at Body and Brain is to empower individuals by activating the brain's natural ability to create health and happiness. We believe in the significance of self-change and its direct contribution to the health of others. Our mind-body practices and principles reflect our continuous commitment to benefit each individual and all life on Earth.

For 12 years and counting, we have offered energy yoga, Tai Chi, meditation, and breathing classes to help individuals release stress and learn how to balance their body and brain.
Our focus in our training is low impact physical exercise and mindfulness to promote natural healing from within.
Benefits of our yoga include but are not limited to: pain relief, stress relief, peace of mind, weight management, better sleep, improved focus/memory, flexibility, balance, emotional stability, and increased self confidence.

Instructors
Jackie Lacefield
Jackie has been teaching at the Kingwood Body and Brain center for three months. She brings a lively, youthful energy to the classroom and out in the "real" world. She takes a genuine interest in other people's growth and wants to bring out the best in everyone. When not at the studio, she enjoys nature walks, photography, and reading.
Maureen Godfrey
Maureen is the owner of Body and Brain Yoga Kingwood as well as the Woodlands location. She has been an instructor for 12 years and continues to grow in her practice! She brings a deep, energetic experience with her calming and motherly presence. When not at the studio, she enjoys spending time with her two sons and husband.

All of our classes focus on low impact physical exercise and mindfulness to promote natural healing. While each class has a differrent routine/flow, each class incorporates the following elements: meridian stretching, vitality breathwork, brain wave vibration, and energy meditation.

We also offer Tai Chi classes on Wednesday mornings (10:30 AM) and alternating Thursday evenings (6:30 PM).


Benefits include but are not limited to: pain relief, stress relief, peace of mind, weight management, better sleep, improved focus/memory, flexibility, balance, emotional stability, and increased self confidence.

Basic Yoga ( BY )

Gentle and fun exercises for all ages and capabilities to help energy flow, relax the brain, free the mind and restore the body.

Core Strengthening ( CS )

Core Strengthening class emphasizes our inner abdominal muscles related to supporting the flexibility and strength of our organs, hips, the breathing diaphragm, and back. In this class, we combine Intestinal (Abdominal) Exercises with Meridian Stretches and Core Energy Breathing postures to increase the blood flow and help detoxify our immune systems. This class includes deep stretching, core breathing, relaxation and meditation for chakra health and balance.

Energy Movement ( EM )

With rhythmic energy movement this class creates vibrations in the body to rebalance the energy of the brain.  Through rhythm and sound you will release stress and body tension and bring your brain into a calm and meditative state. Relaxes your body and mind and helps you to recover your center and get grounded

Meridian Stretching ( MS )

In this class, we focus on exercises to feel where tension is in the body and release that tension through stretching and breathing. We do not focus on specific postures, but rather connecting the mind to the body through movement, breath and awareness. The exercises are easy to follow and appropriate for just about any age and condition.

Tai Chi ( TC )

Tai Chi incorporates slow, deliberate movements, meditation, and breathing exercises to help your circulation, balance, and alignment while restoring energy. This is a low-impact martial art with amazing benefits.
