All levels, ages, and physical conditions are welcome

Our mission at Body and Brain is to empower individuals by activating the brain's natural ability to create health and happiness. We believe in the significance of self-change and its direct contribution to the health of others. Our mind-body practices and principles reflect our continuous commitment to benefit each individual and all life on Earth.

For 12 years and counting, we have offered energy yoga, Tai Chi, meditation, and breathing classes to help individuals release stress and learn how to balance their body and brain.
Our focus in our training is low impact physical exercise and mindfulness to promote natural healing from within.
Benefits of our yoga include but are not limited to: pain relief, stress relief, peace of mind, weight management, better sleep, improved focus/memory, flexibility, balance, emotional stability, and increased self confidence.

Instructors
Maureen Godfrey
Maureen is the owner and head instructor at Body and Brain The Woodlands as well as the Kingwood location. She has been an instructor for 12 years and continues to grow in her practice! She brings a deep, energetic experience with her calming and motherly presence. She is a life coach and spiritual guide, helping individuals to find their own path to a healither, happier and more peaceful life. She is also assistant TX regional director, leading regional workshops including Initial Awakening and Finding Trueself.
Michelle Mullenix
Michelle is our newest instructor, starting her healing path with Body and Brain a little over one year ago. She enjoys sharing her heart with members and offers an interactive classroom approach to yoga. Another passion of hers is empowering individuals to heal from past trauma and hardships.
WHAT WE OFFER

Group Classes or 1:1 Private Sessions Available
 

All of our classes focus on low impact physical exercise and mindfulness to promote natural healing. While each class has a differrent routine/flow, each class incorporates the following elements: meridian stretching, vitality breathwork, brain wave vibration, and energy meditation.

We Tai Chi classes on Wednesday mornings (10:30 AM) and alternating Thursday evenings (6:30 PM).

 

Mondays have a gentle core strengthening focus and releasing tension from the spine.

Tuesdays and Thursdays are basic yoga class days (with Tai chi on alternating Thursday evenings).

Wednesdays have a deep stretching focus to release knots from the muscles throughout the body (with Tai chi on Wednesday mornings).

Fridays have a vibration focus with body tapping, bouncing, and dancing to release tension from the entire body.

Body & Brain Yoga (All levels) ( BBY )

Body & Brain Yoga's regular classes are great for all levels and ages! Each class has effective and dynamic components of stretching, breathing, and meditation to destress, strengthen, and relax the mind and body. You will definitely feel refreshed and energized even after just one fun session guided by our seasoned instructors!

 

Core Strengthening ( COR )

Core Strengthening class emphasizes our inner abdominal muscles related to supporting the flexibility and strength of our organs, hips, the breathing diaphragm, and back. In this class, we combine Belly Button Healing, Intestinal (Abdominal) Exercises with Meridian Stretches and Core Energy Breathing postures to increase circulation to help strengthen our immune system and improve our gut health. This class includes deep stretching, core breathing, relaxation and meditation for chakra health and balance.

Energy Movement ( VIB )

With rhythmic energy movement this class creates vibrations in the body to rebalance the energy of the brain. This class will include, Dahn Mu (moving energy meditation), tapping, vibration, dancing, breathing, and meditation. Through rhythm and sound you will release stress and body tension and bring your brain into a calm and meditative state. Relaxes your body and mind and helps you to recover your center and get grounded. 

Tai Chi ( TAI )

Tai Chi incorporates slow, deliberate movements, meditation, and breathing exercises to help your circulation, balance, and alignment while restoring energy. This is a low-impact martial art with amazing benefits.
