Healthy Body

Body & Brain is a national leader in holistic health and wellness. Our classes combine East Asian healing and energy philosophies through yoga, tai chi, qi gong, meditation, detox, rhythmic movements, and breathing training.

Happy Heart

Our practice isn't just for your physical health. We focus our exercises, workshops, programs, and private sessions to also open your mind and heart for richer experiences of inner healing. You will enjoy emotional stability that ripples effects into all areas of your life.

Power Brain

Our method is a brain-based approach to comprehensive wellness. Overall health starts with a healthy brain, since it regulates all bodily functions, emotions, and thoughts. We utilize our own 5-step approach to activate the brain's potential through a deep mind-body-spirit connection. Your brain is the key!

Belly Button Healing

Belly Button Healing is a unique method of self-healing created by the founder of Body & Brain. It is based on common knowledge that gut and digestive health play a crucial role in maintaining one's mood and overall wellness. As the centerpoint of your digestive tract, your belly button has the unique ability to deliver digestive and reproductive health as well as a wide array of emotional benefits when stimulated properly.

Instructors
Deanna Patacsil
Deanna is the current manager and head instructor of the Body & Brain Northbrook location. She has been leading Body & Brain classes and trainings in the Chicagoland-area communities since 2009.

Born and raised in Hawai'i, she connects deeply to her roots and brings the "Aloha Spirit" into her classes and trainings and with each person she meets. Having an extensive athletic background, as well as artistic in both visual design and music, she brings the creative movements of body, mind and spirit with ki-energy healing into the experiences she leads, and strives to create a better world by helping people learn how to heal themselves.

Her passion for life is saving the world and uniting people together. Come to the Northbrook center and meet Deanna!
Hilary Reinglass
Hilary is the main assistant instructor of the Body & Brain Northbrook location. She grew up in the area and has a drive to help the community awaken to their natural healing abilities inside! She has been with Body & Brain Yoga for 2 years and has truly connected with her life purpose - to be a healer and spiritual guide.

Hilary recently became a Master in Training and hopes to someday open a Body & Brain Yoga Tai Chi center in Israel! "Body & Brain Yoga Tai Chi connects all the aspects that are important to me in my life: souls growth, healthy body and caring for our earth". Through this training and instructing, Hilary has been able to heal herself and change her life, for the better!
Ken Hong
Ken is an assistant instructor at the Body & Brain Northbrook location. He currently leads some of the Qi Gong/Tai Chi classes.
WHAT WE OFFER
Body & Brain Yoga (All levels) ( BBY )

Body & Brain Yoga's regular classes are great for all levels and ages! Each class has effective and dynamic components of stretching, breathing, and meditation to destress, strengthen, and relax the mind and body. You will definitely feel refreshed and energized even after just one fun session guided by our seasoned instructors!

 

Core Strengthening ( COR )

Core Strengthening class emphasizes our inner abdominal muscles related to supporting the flexibility and strength of our organs, hips, the breathing diaphragm, and back. In this class, we combine Belly Button Healing, Intestinal (Abdominal) Exercises with Meridian Stretches and Core Energy Breathing postures to increase circulation to help strengthen our immune system and improve our gut health. This class includes deep stretching, core breathing, relaxation and meditation for chakra health and balance.

Energy Movement ( VIB )

With rhythmic energy movement this class creates vibrations in the body to rebalance the energy of the brain. This class will include, Dahn Mu (moving energy meditation), tapping, vibration, dancing, breathing, and meditation. Through rhythm and sound you will release stress and body tension and bring your brain into a calm and meditative state. Relaxes your body and mind and helps you to recover your center and get grounded. 

Open Class ( OPC )

Tai Chi ( TAI )

Tai Chi incorporates slow, deliberate movements, meditation, and breathing exercises to help your circulation, balance, and alignment while restoring energy. This is a low-impact martial art with amazing benefits.
