ABOUT BAY RIDGE CENTER
Welcome to Body and Brain Bay Ridge

Located in the Bay Ridge section of Brooklyn, Body and Brain Bay Ridge has been helping Brooklynites improve their bodies and well being since 2002 (we even got awarded best yoga studio in the borough). We offer one main training space where we conduct classes and workshops, along with a smaller private training room for private one-on-one sessions. Whether you live in the area, own or work in one of the many surrounding businesses, we'd love to see you stop on by to experience our classes. We offer four main classes: basic energy yoga (where we loosen the body through stretching and breathing), core/detox (what good is exercise if you have a weak center?), Energy Movement (release your stress through shaking and vibration exercises), and Tai Chi/Ki-Gong (feel your inner energy through harmonious slow movements). We also offer numerous small workshops to help you get a better understanding of why we do some of the exercises that we do and how you can apply those experiences from your body to your everyday activities. Our classes are designed for people of all levels, so beginners are always welcome. The best way to get to us is by the R train, where you can get off at either 77th or 86th street in Brooklyn. And if you have questions, don't hesitate to call or just pop in if you're in the neighborhood. We're always happy to see you.  

WHAT WE OFFER
Body & Brain Yoga (All levels) ( BBY )

Body & Brain Yoga's regular classes are great for all levels and ages! Each class has effective and dynamic components of stretching, breathing, and meditation to destress, strengthen, and relax the mind and body. You will definitely feel refreshed and energized even after just one fun session guided by our experienced instructors!

 

Core Strengthening ( COR )

Core Strengthening class emphasizes our inner abdominal muscles related to supporting the flexibility and strength of our organs, hips, the breathing diaphragm, and back. In this class, we combine Belly Button Healing, Intestinal (Abdominal) Exercises with Meridian Stretches and Core Energy Breathing postures to increase circulation to help strengthen our immune system and improve our gut health. This class includes deep stretching, core breathing, relaxation and meditation for chakra health and balance.

Energy Movement ( VIB )

With rhythmic energy movement, this class creates vibrations in the body to rebalance the energy of the brain. This class will include Dahn Mu (moving energy meditation), tapping, vibration, dancing, breathing, and meditation. Through rhythm and sound, you will release stress and body tension and bring your brain into a calm and meditative state. Relax your body and mind and recover your center to ground your energy. 

Tai Chi ( TAI )

Tai Chi incorporates slow, deliberate movements, meditation, and breathing exercises to help your circulation, balance, and alignment while restoring energy. This is a low-impact martial art with amazing benefits.
