New Mexico Senate Officially Commends Body & Brain for its Positive Community Impact

We’re excited to share some uplifting news from New Mexico!

This past week, the State of New Mexico issued an official commendation recognizing the positive impact of the Brain Education Program on the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of students, educators, parents, and communities across the state.

Brain Education, developed by Ilchi Lee, is the Qigong-based mind-body practice we teach at Body & Brain Centers across the United States. Designed to strengthen the body, sharpen the mind, and support personal growth, Brain Education blends practical energy training with principles from neuroscience. Through this combination, individuals develop essential skills like self-regulation, focus, and emotional awareness; tools that are increasingly recognized as vital for learning, mental health, and daily life.

Implemented in schools and community settings across New Mexico, the program makes these practices accessible to people of all ages, giving them tools they can apply every day.

The commendation was presented during the 2026 legislative session by Linda Trujillo, a long-time supporter of Brain Education and Body & Brain practitioner. Ms. Trujillo previously introduced “Brain Education Day” in 2017 to honor the dedication of Ilchi Lee, U.S. Body & Brain centers, and the New Mexico Brain Education School Project Team.

The certificate states:

“[The Brain Education Program] has contributed significant positive outcomes to the physical, mental and emotional well-being of students, educators, parents, and community members throughout the state of New Mexico… and its founder Ilchi Lee established Brain Education and Body & Brain centers in the United States as transformative programs that serve the public good and address the growing needs of this era.”

“We are deeply honored by this recognition,” said Sylvia Lee, Project Manager of Brain Education in New Mexico. “At a time when schools are searching for sustainable ways to support student well-being, this acknowledgment affirms the real impact these practices are having in our communities.”

Brain Education’s presence in the United States continues to grow through Body & Brain centers, offering a community-centered approach to strengthening resilience, health, and personal growth. As interest in preventive wellness expands, this recognition reflects a larger shift toward education that nurtures not just academic success, but the whole person.

When we prioritize the health and well-being of our communities, we spark real transformation — fostering harmony, coexistence, and building a foundation for a stronger, healthier, happier, and more peaceful society.
