July brought exciting news as South Korean media giant, TV Chosun awarded Ilchi Lee the 2015 Grand Prize Management Award for True Education Management. Ilchi Lee was on hand at the Seoul Namsan Millennium Hilton Hotel to receive the prestigious award during the nationwide cable- televised ceremony.
Through educational projects such as the Global Cyber University, University of Brain Education, and the Benjamin School for Character Education, Ilchi Lee has been a pioneer in cultivating young leaders around the world. The 2015 Grand Prize Management Award for True Education Management recognized him for his innovative development of the Global Cyber University, a four-year online undergraduate university.
Founded in 2010 with just 490 students, the university's freshman enrollment has increased by 178% during the past few years. Full time faculty has been expanded and remote educational facilities have been enhanced. In 2014, President Lee provided financial scholarships to the entire Global Cyber University student body. Additionally, a new study hall, also used for filming instructorÂ's classes was recently opened in the Gangnam area of Seoul.
Ilchi Lee was in good company for the July 21st award ceremony: other winners in education included President Youngshik Kim, Baekseok Cultural University; President Kiwoo Lee, JEI University; President Hoonkyu Lee, Cha Medical College; and President Seunghyun Moon, Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST). Grand prize winners were chosen based on their leadership capabilities, management infrastructure, management results, and projected achievement. Ten awards were given that day including acknowledgements for global management, leadership management, sustainability management, and innovation management.
