Not Your Average Yoga Studio

 

Body & Brain of Vienna is a community-oriented center delivering holistic health by restoring optimal energy flow in the body.  Our group classes, workshops, retreats, and personal care help you to unblock and revive the natural healing system that resides within everyone.

We encourage our practitioners to trust their body’s innate wisdom and therefore do not require a high degree of flexibility, balance, or strength to follow our basic exercises. Our classes accommodate people of ALL ages, body types, and fitness levels to participate comfortably at their own pace.   

We value personal care and education.  No matter where you begin, we will do our best to guide you step-by-step as you move through various stages of energy development and self-mastery.

Hi! I'm Paula! Welcome to Body & Brain of Vienna. I'm a former management consultant turned entrepreneurial yoga and healing enthusiast. I started my practice with Body & Brain as a member almost 10 years ago and quickly realized this practice had the potential to change my life for the better. Now, I gratefully spend my days working with people who are looking for better health, more happiness, and a sense of peace. When I worked in organizations, I understood that in order for the organization to change it had to happen one person at a time. I chose to open Body & Brain of Vienna in March 2018 to work more closely with individuals to foster the changes they were looking for, knowing that healthier, happier individuals leads to a healthier, happier world. When you change your energy, you can change your destiny and change the world. Please stop by and say "hello." I would love to meet you.
Fernando Zorro
Hello! I'm Fernando and I'm happy to be part of Body & Brain Vienna. In 2005 I adopted a dog name Ginger who had some bad habits, namely chewing things up, not listening, and pulling on the leash while on walks. Over time I realized that Ginger was merely reacting to my energy... my energy was out of balance and therefore, so was hers. I discovered Body & Brain and acquired the tools to better manage my physical health, and my emotional and informational energy. Now, as a certified instructor I share those tools with our members.
WHAT WE OFFER
Body & Brain Yoga (All levels) ( BBY )

Body & Brain Yoga's regular classes are great for all levels and ages! Each class has effective and dynamic components of stretching, breathing, and meditation to destress, strengthen, and relax the mind and body. You will definitely feel refreshed and energized even after just one fun session guided by our experienced instructors!

 

Core Strengthening ( COR )

Core Strengthening class emphasizes our inner abdominal muscles related to supporting the flexibility and strength of our organs, hips, the breathing diaphragm, and back. In this class, we combine Belly Button Healing, Intestinal (Abdominal) Exercises with Meridian Stretches and Core Energy Breathing postures to increase circulation to help strengthen our immune system and improve our gut health. This class includes deep stretching, core breathing, relaxation and meditation for chakra health and balance.

Energy Movement ( VIB )

With rhythmic energy movement, this class creates vibrations in the body to rebalance the energy of the brain. This class will include Dahn Mu (moving energy meditation), tapping, vibration, dancing, breathing, and meditation. Through rhythm and sound, you will release stress and body tension and bring your brain into a calm and meditative state. Relax your body and mind and recover your center to ground your energy. 

Self Healing with Wooden Pillow ( SWP )

Learning how to heal yourself with the versatility of the wooden pillow! You can use it to relieve tension and align your body from head to toe with this uniquely designed self-healing tool. 

Tai Chi and Ki gong ( TNK )

Tai Chi & Ki Gong combines slow, deliberate movements, meditation, and breathing exercises to help your circulation, balance, and alignment while restoring energy. This is a very low-impact exercise with amazing benefits.

The group will meet on Tuesdays at 7:30 pm beginning on Jan 15, at Body & Brain Yoga, 123 Church Street NW, Vienna, Va.
